Our Retail Conversational Systems team within ASO is focused on digital customer engagement, and is redefining what’s possible in digital communication. Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, recommending, and implementing our conversational design strategies. Through a Conversational Designer lens, you’ll use your creativity and technical acumen to define and build the desired experience. Typical responsibilities will include:
– Define, plan and deliver dialogue flows that adapt dynamically based on user intent, sentiment and context, leveraging designed dialogue branches or generative models per the best performance of the chosen technology.
– Conduct annotation, identify opportunities, and execute activities to improve the accuracy of our models.
– Be the voice of our customer and will champion features, communicate project status to multi-functional leads, present in leadership reviews and create prototype and product demos.
– Be the subject matter expert of the ideal conversational experience, applying a broad range of user experience design skills (including Heuristic Evaluation and design thinking) to envision, design, and specify conversational behaviors.
– Partner closely with teams like Data Science, Strategy, Digital Experience, Product Management, etc. to identify core pillars and MVPs, and ensure the delivery of conversational experience for new projects/initiatives.
– Uncover customer insights from chat interactions and drive next generation experiences that will optimize our customer journey and overall experience.
– Prioritize enhancements based on customer needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
– Maintain methodologies once in service to ensure their continued use and acceptable level of quality.
– Evaluate chat experience both internally and across a competitive landscape, and providing recommendations that fulfill business needs, enhance customer satisfaction, and that may reduce operational overhead.
– Ability to think creatively and strategically, with a passion for staying ahead of industry trends and driving innovation in conversational AI.

Minimum Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in conversational design for consumer products, conversational agents or voice assistants.
Proven track records of building and tuning conversational experience in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English; presentation skills with various audience and levels
Demonstrable experience in articulating, negotiating, and refining design solutions with partners using data and design standard methodology.
Able to influence others without authority and build trust with other teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, MBA or advanced degree preferred, or B.S. with equivalent industry experiences.
Design lead role experience, with an ability to lead and grow a team of high performing designers.
Able to leverage LLMs, RAG and multimodal interactions to craft context-aware, personalized and adaptive conversations.
Expertise in Generative AI (LLM-based chatbots, prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning).
Background in linguistics, or human-computer interaction.
Familiar with autonomous agent frameworks (e.g. multi-agent systems).
