The Greater China team develops and manages world-class communication strategies to support Apple’s continued growth in this dynamic region. We are currently seeking a Social Media Content Planner & Writer who brings equal parts creative intuition and editorial precision. In this role, you will be responsible for ideating, writing, and planning content that is culturally relevant, platform-native, and always beautifully executed. You’ll work closely with creative, strategist, producer, and PR professionals, as well as external partners to ensure every piece of social storytelling reflects Apple’s standards of clarity, humanity, and excellence.

This is a role for someone who is hands-on and forward-thinking — someone who cares deeply about tone, format, and audience, and who thrives in the fast-evolving space of social media (primarily with rednote and Weibo platforms, and campaigns in collaboration with influencers and press outlets).

This culturally fluent, strategically minded content planner and writer should thrive on collaboration and multitasking, navigate fast-moving projects with ease, partner closely across teams, and bring clear, compelling storytelling to every touchpoint.

– Craft concise, engaging, and on-brand copy that resonates with the platform audience and adapting global narratives to fit local context.

– Lead ideation and copywriting for a range of formats — from short-form social posts to video scripts and campaign storytelling.

– Translate brand values, product benefits, and community engagement into compelling editorial angles and storytelling formats.

– Collaborate with creatives, producers, and external agencies to shape integrated content that pairs visual creativity with strong writing.

– Assist the PR team to ensure alignment between organic content, press narratives, and creator collaborations.

– Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail, timelines, and quality control.

– Contribute to a collaborative, high-output team culture that values agility, thoughtfulness, and shared creative ownership.

– Collaborate with data analysts to understand performance and platform dynamics, informing creative decisions and refining content strategy.

– Stay informed across cultural trends, internet language, platform algorithm updates, and local user behaviours to guide content planning.

– Develop weekly and monthly content calendars in partnership with the wider PR, Marketing Communications, Product Marketing, and Business Affairs teams, mapping out key moments, cultural opportunities, and brand initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in content planning, copywriting, or editorial roles, ideally within consumer tech, lifestyle, or creative industries.
Deep understanding of China’s social media ecosystem and content aesthetics, especially among Gen Z audiences.
Bilingual in Chinese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience in planning and writing high-performing social media content.
Experience working with cross-functional creative, PR, and production teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or above in communications, journalism, marketing, cultural studies, or related fields.
Experience developing editorial content and short-form video content — from ideation to scripting and collaborating on storyboards with visual teams.
Strong conceptual thinking and editorial judgment with a sharp eye for visual storytelling and narrative structure.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high creative standards.
Comfortable working cross-functionally in fast-moving, collaborative environments.
Passion for digital culture, social storytelling, and connecting with Gen Z audiences through meaningful content.
