Marketing Communications (Marcom) is the creatively-led global team that oversees Apple’s consumer facing marketing. We ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications across all medias and platforms. The Greater China team develops and manages world-class marketing communication efforts that support Apple’s rapid growth in this region. This includes all consumer-facing communications across Localization, Advertising, Social, Retail, Partner, Interactive & Digital platforms, as well as support for Video & Motion Graphics.

As a Creative Director (CD) of the Interactive Team, you will be responsible for both Platform Design and Communications Design projects. Your team is made up of multiple discipline experts, including Interactive Writers, Visual Designers and UX designers. You will collaborate with other creative and teams to create best-in-class communications and customer experiences for apple.com, social media handles, retail and partner digital channels, and other digital platforms.

The ideal candidate possesses an impeccable design aesthetic and attention to detail, broad experience in brand design and creative direction, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to foster positive collaboration with multi-disciplinary partners. Additionally, you should have a deep understanding of creative strategy, user experience concepts, digital platform capabilities, and systematic design rationale.

The Creative Director will work closely with the Interactive Creative Lead, GC Group Creative Director, Worldwide Creative Leadership (London & Cupertino), and Greater China Marcom leadership to deliver creative that resonates with the market.

Description:
Own the creative process and lead the interactive designers and agencies to develop, review, and execute digital campaigns, always-on social handles, apple.com, and other direct and indirect digital platforms for Apple’s brand and products.

* Guide the teams through design concept development, and collaborate with Creative Directors of Writing, Experience Design, and Producers to develop interactive and content strategies.
* Provide feedback, listen to perspectives, and resolve conflicts within your team and across Marcom, ensuring all voices are heard and considered.
* Lead and collaborate with visual designers, writers, experience designer and agencies to conceptualize ideas and co-direct teams to produce quality work.
* Guide emerging designers in crafting meaningful and inspiring content.
* Design, review, and empower campaigns for Apple’s brand and products.
* Present work to senior creative staff, product marketing managers, and Apple executives.
* Integrate strategies and messaging across online, retail, channel, events, advertising, and new communication mediums.
* Work with the Interactive Creative Lead and project managers to ensure schedules are accurate, realistic, and deadlines are met.
* Develop and find new talent, plan and staff for an ongoing calendar of projects, and manage outside agencies and vendors for overflow projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must provide a creative portfolio or work samples.
12+ years of overall experience, including 3 years of management experience as a leader in a creative-focused digital agency or in-house at a leading brand.
Strong written and spoken English skills for effective communication with international team members.

A global perspective with an awareness of the latest digital trends and works from around the world.
Exposure to local culture in China and its unique digital landscape.
Your work is grounded in original ideas and executed with outstanding design and visual craftsmanship, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
You utilize various outlets to express your designs and concepts, including hand sketches, digital comps, rapid prototyping, and 3D rendering.
You are passionate about design that is thoughtful, meaningful, and inspiring.
You have a keen eye for exceptional design and the ability to create powerful visuals through your work.
You possess excellent management, mentorship, and interpersonal skills.
You can present, collaborate, and respectfully debate with senior partners in a cogent and articulate manner.
